Bureau des Congrès Universitaires

Our mission

The primary mission of the Bureau des Congrès Universitaires (BCU) is to provide support for university professors organizing conventions, symposia and international conferences in the Province of Quebec.

Our mandate

The general mandate of the BCU is to provide technical assistance and equipment to professors who are members of a conference organizing committee, with a view to ensuring that their teaching obligations are not compromised. In this way, we are able to help them gain worldwide exposure for their research results.

Our status

The BCU, as it is currently structured, is managed as an autonomous centre and forms part of a corporation constituted in accordance with Canadian Company Law. The BCU is headed by an administrator and a coordinator who is in charge of administration.

Symbol of growth

Since it began operating in 1994, the BCU has managed an average of one event per month.

Well-planned conferences

Careful planning and coordination are key to the efficiency of the BCU. In order to achieve this, the Bureau has in place an administrator, a coordinator, project managers and the necessary support staff for these activities to be performed smoothly.
